France reaffirmed, Thursday, its support for the Moroccan autonomy plan as a serious and credible basis to reach a just, durable and mutually acceptable political solution to the Sahara issue.

France also reiterated its support for UN efforts to reach a political solution to this issue, wrote the final statement issued following the 13th Morocco-France High Level Meeting held in Rabat.

In this statement, Morocco and France underlined the importance of reviving the UN-brokered political process, on the basis of parameters set by the UN Security Council, as laid down in Council resolution 2351 dated April 28, 2017.

France commended Morocco's will to work, towards this end, with new UNSG personal envoy Horst Kohler, said the statement.

The 13th Morocco-France High Level Meeting was co-chaired by head of government Saâd-Eddine El Otmani and French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.

Several agreements covering the different fields of cooperation were inked following the meeting.
