The presentation of the Manifesto of Independence on January 11, 1944, which the Moroccan people commemorate the 73rd anniversary this Wednesday, calls on rising generations to contemplate and learn the lessons of positive citizenship in order to face present and future challenges, stressed the High Commission of Former Resistance and Members of the Liberation Army (HCAR).

Commemorated by the Moroccan people and headed by the family of the national movement, resistance and Liberation Army, in an atmosphere of national mobilization under the clear-sighted leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, this anniversary is a favorable and symbolic occasion in the path of national struggle for freedom and independence, achievement of national unity and territorial integrity, added the HCAR in a statement published on this occasion.

Throughout its history, Morocco has been the scene of heroic events designed to defend its identity and unity, and to defeat the plans of the colonizer who spared no effort to take over the national territory during Almost half a century, by dividing the country into zones divided between the French protectorate in central Morocco and the Spanish protectorate north and south of the Kingdom, while Tangier remained an international zone.

While this situation made it difficult to liberate the entire national territory from foreign occupation, this challenge could be met by enormous sacrifices made by the Throne and the Moroccan people in the framework of the long-term struggle for freedom, independence, unity and national sovereignty.
