The European Parliament rejected Thursday (November 24th) a new maneuver of a Green MEP who wanted to introduce a text hostile to the rights of Morocco on Sahara in a report subject to a vote in committee.

At a meeting devoted to the examination and vote on a report on the implementation of the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs prejected this text.

This new blow comes a week after another setback wiped out by the opponents of Morocco and supporters of the separatist thesis supported by Algeria.

The same committee rejected last Monday two amendments introduced under MEP Paloma Lopez Bermejo, the 2015 annual report on human rights and democracy in the world and policy of the European Union In this area.

These amendments, which stem from Algeria's actions in the corridors of the European Parliament, are aimed at disrupting the UN process and undermining the efforts of the international community in favor of a political solution to the dispute.

The rejection of these amendments also reflects the doctrine of the European Union as to the need to work for a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution. The international community considers credible, serious and realistic autonomy in the Sahara in the framework of Moroccan sovereignty.
