To attain a just and lasting solution to the Sahara, I firmly believe that the Moroccan autonomy proposal will solve this conflict that has lasted 40 years
 
The mayor of Bordeaux, former Prime Minister and candidate for the upcoming French presidential elections Alain Juppe is pying since Monday a three-day working visit to Morocco on Moroccan-French relations.


At a press conference held on Monday in Casablanca, Alain Juppe discussed relations between Rabat and Paris, the situation in North Africa and other subjects in particular the Moroccan Sahara.
 
On the Sahara issue, Alain Juppe said he is with the French continuity showing the same support for Morocco, especially internationally at the UN Security Council to defend the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco since 2007.
 
"To arrive at a just and lasting solution, I firmly believe that the Moroccan proposal constitutes a solid basis that will solve this conflict that has lasted 40 years," said Alain Juppe.
 
The mayor of Bordeaux met with Moroccan officials on Monday before holding a conference at the Technopolis International University in Salé.
