The statement reaffirms respect of sovereignty and integrity of the country, calling for peaceful crisis resolution, non-interference in internal affairs and condemns terrorism

HM King Mohammed VI and President of the People's Republic of China, H.E. Xi Jinping signed a joint statement on the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries reaffirming once again, the principle of respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and commitment to support the efforts of all for the preservation of peace and stability in their respective regions.



The strategic partnership marks a milestone in the development of bilateral relations and will bring new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in all fields, Xi said, according to the Chinese press agency Xinhua.

China has always attached great importance to its relations with Morocco and will continue to firmly support the country's efforts to maintain national stability and promote socio-economic development. China appreciates Morocco's adherence to the policy of one China and support it on major issues related to its core interests, the president said.

According to the joint release, the two countries will increase exchanges between their heads of state, government leaders and officials, strengthen communication and coordination on strategic issues and will promote cooperation and exchanges between the legislative bodies and political parties.

The two sides reaffirmed the principle of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, pledging to support efforts by each other to maintain regional peace and stability.

Both countries called for a peaceful resolution of international and regional crises and disputes. They oppose interference in the internal affairs of other countries and threat or use of force and condemn terrorism in all its forms.

China and Morocco will jointly implement the cooperation under and China-Arab Countries Forum, China-Africa Forum, the statement said.

According to Xi, China calls on Morocco to continue to participate in cooperation between China and Arab countries and China-Africa Cooperation, which will also bring a broader perspective to the development of Chinese-Moroccan relations.

Concerning bilateral cooperation, the joint statement said the two countries will deepen cooperation in areas such as oil and mining, agriculture, environmental protection, fisheries, infrastructure construction and digital communication, expand cooperation in renewable energy and develop a partnership in metallurgy and electronics.

According to Hu, China is ready to participate in the industrial revitalization program in Morocco and encourage its companies to participate in infrastructure construction projects in the country.

China is willing to strengthen military exchanges and cooperation in the fields of tourism and education with Morocco and hopes to build a Chinese cultural center as early as possible in this country, said Mr. Xi.

China is also ready to promote bilateral coordination and cooperation in international affairs such as climate change, safeguard common interests of both countries and other developing nations, the president said.

The Sovereign for his part hailed the traditional friendship between the two countries and thanked China for its assistance.

He echoed the words of President Xi Jinping according to which the strategic partnership injects new vitality to the relationship between the two countries. Morocco is ready to work with China to expand cooperation in trade and infrastructure construction and enhance coordination on issues related to development and climate change.

HM King who started Wednesday his state visit to China at the invitation of Mr Xi, said that Morocco is ready for a major Chinese cooperation in Africa and among the Arab countries.

After the talks, the two sides signed several cooperation agreements in areas such as justice, commerce, energy, mining, finance, culture and food security.
