Papua New Guinea strongly supports the autonomy plan to resolve artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, said Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of Papua New Guinea, Rimbink Pato.


Pato said, during his visit by Morocco, that "Papua New Guinea is a friendly country of Morocco. Our position on the Sahara is clear. We support Morocco on its efforts to resolve this conflict. "
 
The Minister added "we support Morocco forcefully within the United Nations and outside", announcing that his country plans to open an honorary representation in the Kingdom.
 
The Minister of Papua New Guinea says "we support the position of Morocco regarding the Sahara and we are working in coordination with Morocco to find a solution to this conflict."
 
He said that his country ranks alongside Morocco, especially as the autonomy plan that his country wants to apply in the northeast region is similar to that proposed by the Kingdom.
 
The Head of diplomacy of Papua New Guinea, said that "the purpose of his visit by Morocco is strengthening bilateral cooperation," adding that his Government will appoint an Honorary Consul for the Kingdom to enhance friendship and ties between the two countries.
