The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar chaired on Tuesday the official opening ceremony of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in the Republic of Panama.

The inauguration ceremony of the diplomatic representation of the Kingdom was marked by the presence of an audience of senior officials, including the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for external relations, Amael Candanedo and the President of the Supreme Court, Jose Ayu Prado, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Panama.

Speaking on this occasion, Mezouar said that the opening of the Embassy of Morocco in Panama is "a sign of confidence, and a message confirming Morocco's determination to build a partnership turned towards the future, able to ensure more prosperity for both countries and both peoples. "

He also stressed the need to work together with Panama, a serious and credible partner in order to "address common challenges in a world that erects the strengthening of South-South cooperation for the future" .

For Mezouar, the opening of the Embassy of Morocco falls in line with the philosophy of foreign policy, conducted under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, and which is based on the strengthening of South-South ties, particularly with Africa and Latin America, two pillars of progress and achievement of a sustainable balance in the world today.

The Moroccan official noted that his visit to Panama embodies Morocco's commitment to move forward in the promotion of friendly relations between the two countries, culminating in the opening of their respective embassies, noting that "we have much to do, a lot to learn from each other, but above all we have common interests to defend.
