Côte d'Ivoire asked Saturday in New York for the settlement of the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara within the United Nations Security Council resolutions under Moroccan sovereignty and autonomy plan.

Concerning the Sahara issue, Côte d'Ivoire called on the parties to "settle the dispute under the relevant resolutions of the Security Council and the Moroccan autonomy initiative," said Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations, Claude Bouah-Kamon, during the general debate of the UN 70th General Assembly.

The Ivorian diplomat affirmed his country's support to the process of negotiations under the UN aegis.

Claude Bouah-Kamon, who warned nations against internal and regional conflicts in several parts of the world, called on the international community to be "attentive to the conflicts in the Middle East, the situation in Syria, Libya and the Sahara ".
