They highlight the relevance of the Moroccan autonomy proposal, the responsibility of Algeria in deteriorating situation in Tindouf camps and lawlessness state of sequestered people

Participants in a debate about the artificial Sahara conflict held Sunday in The Hague, with Dutch MPs and Moroccan academics, highlighted the relevance of the autonomy project for the southern provinces proposed by Morocco, to end the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

The debate organized by the Moroccan NGO Beautiful Event on "the Sahara conflict between realistic solution and difficult challenges" was organized to clarify facts and define the ins and outcomes of the conflict for a better approach.

Harrie van Bommel, a member of the Socialist Party (SP / opposition) expressed hope that the Dutch government will play a more active role in trying to achieve a lasting and mutually acceptable solution.

In view of the security situation in the region, the project of autonomy could be an "appropriate action," said Dutch MEP, noting the need to end the suffering of the Sahrawi sequestered in Tindouf and prevent radicalization and terrorism.

Van Bommel added that Algeria is involved in the conflict, considering that the responsibility of Algiers is to improve the situation of the sequestered in Tindouf and allow those who wish to return to their country.

A view shared by the member of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA / opposition) Myra Koomen who hoped that the Government, MPs and Dutch journalists will be more interested in the reality of this forgotten conflict, adding the that "De Muur" (The Wall) documentary directed by a Dutch journalist and recently broadcast on Dutch television, is a good initiative in this direction.

Ms Koomen stressed that the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco deserves monitoring and interests, noting that regionalization based on people's participation is the future of Africa, as was the case in the past for Europe.

Speaking on this occasion, Mohamed Ahmed Gain, stressed that the Moroccan Sahara issue cannot be reduced to a single aspect of human rights, but should be seen as a whole, adding that systematic violations of human rights do not exist.

He invited the Dutch deputies to make a comparison between the conditions in the Tindouf refugee on Algerian territory, and those in the Moroccan Sahara, while questioning the reasons for the refusal of Algeria to organize a census of refugees sequestered living an inhuman situation.

For his part, Abdel Majid Saligane, teacher and associative actor returned to the last speech of His Majesty the King on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the Green March, noting that 2015 will be the year of advanced regionalization in southern provinces, where people will be able to manage their affairs under Moroccan sovereignty.

He warned at the same time against terrorist threats facing the region and coinciding with the rise of terrorist groups such as "AQIM". He concluded that several international reports reveal the existence of a relationship between these networks and Polisario Front.
