Media propaganda conducted by the Algerian government and NGOs on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara "is to obscure serious atrocities" committed by "Polisario" separatists in Tindouf camps in southern Algeria, said expert and Paraguayan journalist Luis Aguero Wagner.

Disinformation campaigns about atrocities committed by "Polisario Front" in the Tindouf camps are designed to obscure to the public these abuses and accuse Morocco of "imaginary facts" lamented Wagner in an article published by the Spanish information portal "DiariosigloXXI."

Proof of this propaganda campaign, the Paraguayan expert adds, is silence observed on events recently held in the Tindouf camps against Polisario leaders in front of UNHCR headquarters to "denounce the silence of international organizations and passivity of Algerian authorities of abuses and serious violations of human rights and freedoms committed by Polisario".

Participants in the protests, including activists of the Youth Movement for Change, also condemned the siege by the Polisario militia to civilians in the Tindouf camps, and the acts of sexual abuse against Saharawi Women, says the author of the article.

They, at the same time, demanded an investigation into serious abuses by the Polisario torturers in the detention center Al Rashid, said Wagner, referring to the investigations by the Spanish courts against these violations by Polisario leaders.

"The Algerian army intervened to stop these events demonstrating who is the true master of the people who fight for independence," added the journalist, noting that Polisario leadership the does not have the ability to dialogue "without the authorization of Algeria."

In the same context, the author of the article deals with the murder and piracy attacks by Polisario militias against Spanish fishermen in the 80s of last century, killing several people.

Wagner cited in this respect, the attack by members of the Polisario against the Spanish ship "Cruz del Mar" in which seven crew members were killed.
