"Morocco has made great progress towards the promotion of human rights and mainly in the Southern provinces, and this is a fact that has been clearly recognized and praised in the report of the UN Secretary General on the Sahara," said El Khalfi during a press conference after the cabinet meeting.

The report notes cooperation ties between Morocco and the Special Rapporteurs of the United Nations, concerning both the issue of enforced disappearance, and the freedom of belief, in addition to the work done by the National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) and its regional commissions, he said.
