Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs Khalihenna Ould Errachid met with on Tuesday, 18 July 2006 in Rabat with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Morocco, Mr. Saker Mubarak Al Mansouri, as part of its activities to shed light on the issue of the territorial integrity of Morocco and defend the national unity of the Kingdom



The Council’s communiqué, a copy of which was received by MAP Agency, said that Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid briefed Qatari diplomat during this meeting about "new developments concerning the issue of our territorial integrity and the contents of the Royal initiative to give the Sahara enlarged autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty, as final political solution to turn the page of Sahara dispute, which is consistent with the recent UN resolution calling for a negotiated political solution satisfactory to all parties. "

     The same source added that Mr. Ould Errachid gave, during the meeting, a definition of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, "as an effective tool, founded by His Majesty the King and as a mechanism to reconcile citizens of the region as a transition to lay the foundations for the involvement of people of the region in the conduct of local affairs." The communiqué pointed out that Qatar's ambassador, said at the end of the meeting which was attended by the Council’s Secretary-General and Vice-Presidents, this his visit was positive hoping to hold other meetings in the same context.

We were briefed about the President’s  view and thank God there is a tribute to the will of the two countries, Qatar and Morocco. We hope, without a doubt,  that Morocco gains its stability, and this serves all parties
