The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid met, in Rabat Monday with a delegation led by Swedish Ambassador Robert Rydberg, Director General of the Department of Middle East and North Africa at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



At the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments of the Sahara issue. Mr. Ould Errachid gave his guest Swedish, an overview of the issue evolution, including the search for a negotiated political solution, in light of the new momentum created by the Moroccan autonomy initiative.

Corcas chairman has also given to the Swedish official, an overview of the evolution of political and social situation in the Sahara region, especially the important progress accumulated in the field of human rights and development that this region has experienced since its return to Morocco.

M. Rydberg and the delegation accompanying him met with other Moroccan officials, including the chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Islamic Affairs in the House of Representatives, Mr. Mohamed Addadi and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Youssef Amrani.
