The Council’s chairman, Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid said at the conclusion of the session’s works, that these proposals will be submitted to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
He added that these proposals are mainly related to the integration of young people of the South on a large scale, by employing 4000 people in the field of marine entrepreneurship and dealing with the wealth of the sea, which will open new horizons for the youth in the Region.
For his part, Mr. Mhaned Lanser, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries, said in a similar statement that the objective of the Council’s discussions is to inform its members on the situation of the sector and its contribution to the development of the southern provinces and creation of employment opportunities for the youth.
He added that the session examined traditional fishing and how to provide vocational training for the benefit of the people of the region, as well as to find a context for the integration of a greater number of people from the region in major investment projects.
The Council members ratified during the closing meeting a number of projects that will be completed in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries to provide opportunities for development in the region, as well as proposals for the integration of people into vocational training to enter the field of traditional fishing.
At the end of the session, a message of loyalty and dedication was read to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The session discussed over two days, "the filed of the maritime fishing sector in the service of the development of the South and employment in traditional fishing", through the stages made for the development of maritime fishing sector in the southern provinces, as well as providing opportunities for youth employment.
The Council had examined at its second regular session last December the housing sector in the Kingdom’s southern regions.
