During a press briefing following their talks, the Comorian Foreign Minister reiterated his country's firm support for the Moroccan autonomy plan, considering it the most reliable and credible solution for achieving a negotiated political solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.

"The Union of the Comoros supports the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco in 2007. We consider it the most reliable and credible solution for achieving a negotiated political solution" to the conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, he emphasized.

In this regard, he underlined that the Moroccan autonomy plan "enjoys broad support from the international community."

Mbae also said his meeting with Bourita is part of efforts to strengthen friendly and cooperation relations between Morocco and the Union of the Comoros, adding that the Kingdom has always stood by his country since the independence of the Union of the Comoros in 1975. "Since that date, bilateral relations have steadily expanded and diversified for the benefit of both peoples," he stressed.

On this occasion, he reiterated his country's commitment to working closely with Morocco to consolidate this mutually beneficial cooperation.
