In his traditional Speech of the Throne, HM King Mohammed VI reiterated his call to the Algerian government to improve bilateral relations and promote "unity and integration of the Maghreb", writes the Argentine news agency "Alternative Press Agency".

According to the Argentine media, "the central axis" of the royal speech focused on "the state of relations with neighboring Algeria and their consequences on the peoples of the region, as well as on the development and integration of Africa.

The Sovereign deplored "the media and diplomatic tensions" that affect relations between the two neighboring countries and that "harm the image of both countries" in international forums.

The Argentine agency also stressed that "without accepting blame, nor holding the current Algerian leadership responsible for the situation, HM King Mohammed VI recognized that both governments are politically and ethically responsible for the continued closure of the borders since 1994.

The sovereign showed "His goodwill" towards the Algerian leaders by reassuring "Our brothers in Algeria: you will never have to fear malice on the part of Morocco, which is in no way a danger or a threat to you.

Finally, HM the King "invited Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to work together, in the nearest time he deems appropriate, to develop fraternal relations that our peoples have built over years of common struggle" against colonialism.

However, the Argentine media, which recalls a similar invitation issued by the sovereign to Algerian leaders in 2019, fears that "Algeria ignores, once again, the hand extended by HM the King ... hindering the Maghreb integration.

The Argentine news site also fears that "the blindness of Algerian leaders prevents North Africa from being a safer and more stable region, despite efforts of King Mohammed VI to achieve a fair and equitable agreement between two countries that geography, history and a common faith have made brothers.
