The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) has expressed, on behalf of its member states, its support "for the measures taken by the Moroccan Government to preserve peace and stability in the + buffer zone + of El Guerguarat, in the Sahara and to ensure the free movement of people and goods to the African continent".


In a statement published on its official website, the Organization urged the various parties to "adhere to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, in particular Resolutions 24.14 and 24.40 which call for preserving peace and order in this region of North Africa".


The Organization called on all parties to "refrain from any act of aggression and to ensure the safety of civilians and the free movement of people and goods in the El Guerguarat area", calling on all parties to comply with all the existing ceasefire agreements.
