Malawi supports a solution within the framework of the Moroccan sovereignty to the dispute over the Sahara, affirmed, Saturday in Rabat, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Malawi, Eisenhower Nduwa Mkaka.


Speaking to reporters following talks with the Moroccan minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, Mr. Nduwa Mkaka recalled, in this regard, that Malawi has no relationship with the so-called sadr since May 2017.


Mr. Nduwa Mkaka underlined that his country believes in dialogue for the resolution of problems, adding that Malawi will continue to support Morocco in international and regional fora.


For his part, Mr. Bourita noted that this visit was an opportunity for him to commend the constructive position of Malawi on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara and to thank this country for the support provided to Morocco within the African Union on this issue.


The talks between Mr. Bourita and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malawi, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom, culminated in the signing of four memorandums of understanding.


The first concerns the field of agriculture and food security, the second relates to cooperation in the sector of higher education and scientific research, the third relates to cooperation in the field of land, housing and urban development, while the last one concerns cooperation in the field of water and sanitation.
