The National Food Distribution Operation "Ramadan 1441", initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, benefits some 10,550 households from the province of Laâyoune, an increase of 1,350 families compared to last year.

This solidarity action aims to provide help and comfort to the most vulnerable social categories, in particular widows, the elderly and people with disabilities.
The wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, governor of the Laâyoune province, Abdeslam Bekrate, kicked off this operation on Saturday  in the presence of several civilian and military figures.
The basket is made up of seven essential products, namely 10 kg flour, 4 kg sugar, 250 gr tea, 1 kg lentils, 1 kg vermicelli, 5 L oil and 800 gr tomato puree.
A provincial committee has been set up to identify beneficiaries of Operation Ramadan 1441.
During this period of lockdown, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and its partners had to adapt the distribution system to guarantee security of populations.

Distribution will be carried out in compliance with health and protection instructions, according to the protocol and methods adapted by the local authorities.

It will be provided by caïdats within the framework of local committees which will ensure that heads of beneficiary families are informed and that food aid is delivered directly to households.

This 21st edition of the Ramadan operation is organized with the financial support of the Ministry of Interior, Directorate General of Local Authorities and Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, Entraide Nationale, Ministry of Health, Gendarmerie Royale, FAR Social Works (DGSS), National Promotion, Auxiliary Forces, Provincial and Local authorities.
