Morocco's position in the global process of development and global integration of the African continent is now clear and consolidated, wrote ambassador Jean-Paul Carteron, founding president of the Crans Montana Forum.

In a viewpoint sent to MAP, Carteron pointed out that "in a continent where hope has often seemed to have deserted, where populations still suffer, where States have difficulty taking advantage of their extraordinary natural resources, Morocco has demonstrated a spectacular success story that has become an example for all its sister countries, and the effectiveness of good governance". Morocco, in the immense region surrounding it, is an unfortunately unique haven of security and stability, he said, noting that it is thanks to this situation that it has become the model for the development of sustainable tourism attracting huge numbers of tourists from all over the world. For the author, Morocco, which benefits from few natural resources with high added value, is the African example of economic and social development. "Thanks to the vision of its King, and beyond a dynasty that has tirelessly implemented a vision of progress, it is today the engine of growth," said the president of the Crans Montana Forum, recalling that "in Morocco high-speed trains are running, planes and cars are manufactured and its industrial sector can make many supposedly industrialized countries jealous". Aware of its African responsibility, Morocco has spontaneously undertaken to implement a resolutely African cooperation strategy, Carteron stressed, noting that the Kingdom wants to be a key player in building the Africa of tomorrow and actions follow words in the most effective way. This requires an impressive increase in the level of trade and investment in Morocco across the entire continent, he explained, noting that HM King Mohammed VI talks about taking a new step forward on the basis of mutually beneficial interests, "which stems from a true culture of sharing, the only way to achieve long-term harmony between peoples". This will require a continuous strengthening of human, economic and political relations between Morocco and other African countries, he went on to say, noting that the road to sub-Saharan Africa and in particular ECOWAS passes mainly through the southern part of the country, these beautiful regions of the Sahara where development programs are making great strides. He also recalled the fact that in the last two years alone, 87 projects have been carried out for 7 billion dirhams! And this figure will increase even more by 2020, as multinationals continue to settle in. He concluded that the Crans Montana Forum returns and will return to Dakhla to testify to the success of the policies implemented by Morocco" but above all to the vision of its King, HM Mohammed VI, who demonstrates to Africa and the world that good governance is the key, perhaps the only one, to all successes! ».
