The 5th edition of the Crans Montana Forum held in Dakhla wrapped up on Sunday. The event brought together close to 1,200 participants from 110 countries and discussed several issues related to South-South cooperation and the future of Africa. 


The opening ceremony was marked by the message sent by HM King Mohammed VI to the participants in this forum, in which the Sovereign underlined the importance of training African youths in order to turn today's economic potential into tomorrow’s reality. “Our youths need to be encouraged, trained, empowered and, above all, valorized. They must be trained to turn today's economic potential into tomorrow’s reality,” the Sovereign pointed out in the message. 


This new edition, held under the theme "Building a powerful and modern Africa dedicated to its youth”, was also marked by the participation of several influential personalities, including Vice President of the Republic of Guatemala, Jafeth Cabrera, Liberian Vice President, Jewel Taylor, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, Prime Minister of Haiti, Jean-Henry Céant, Gambia's First Lady, Fatoumata Bah Barrow, Gambia Vice President, Isatou Touray, First Lady of Guinea, Hadja Conde Djene Kaba, Deputy Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea, Alfonso Nsue Mokuy, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Central African Republic, Laurent Ngon Baba, and Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Moustapha Cissé Lo. The Forum was an opportunity to open in-depth debate on building a powerful and modern Africa dedicated to its youth and to discuss several key topics, including energy security, environment challenges, digital economy, public health, sustainable agriculture, the promotion of youth entrepreneurship and women's leadership. 


For several years now, this event has become a must and reference platform for both public and business world decision-makers to address Africa’s major challenges and its worldwide integration.
