Morocco defends with firmness its territorial integrity and condemns provocations which show that embarrassed Polisario and its ally chose to forge ahead blindly

The Kingdom of Morocco continues to score points in all international forums regarding its national cause, thanks to the dynamics of Moroccan diplomacy conducted under the personal leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, said, Monday in Rabat, head of government, Saad Eddine El Othmani.

In a reply to a question on "The latest developments in the national cause", during the plenary session of the House of Representatives on the general policy, El Othmani noted with pride the general mobilization of all the living forces of the nation to defend the national constants of the Kingdom, including the just national cause of Morocco, confront the enemies of the territorial integrity of Morocco and refute the separatist's thesis.

The government gives priority to intensifying diplomatic efforts to defend the national issue, counter opponents of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and defeat their attempts, in order to definitively resolve the artificial conflict over the southern provinces, he said.

El Othmani recalled that the national cause has undergone important developments that have consolidated the achievements of the Kingdom, thanks to the contribution of official diplomacy and all the driving forces as part of constant vigilance to confront the maneuvers and provocations of enemies of territorial integrity who seek to alter the legal and historical status in the area east of the security structure and the status quo in the buffer zone, in flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement.

He pointed out that the government's action in this matter draws its reference from the Orientations of HM King Mohammed VI and the royal speeches on the occasion of the Throne Day (30 July 2017) and the 42nd anniversary of the Green March (6 November 2017).

The head of government also noted that the report of the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, on the Moroccan Sahara, presented to the members of the Security Council on 29 March 2018, was balanced, as it took into account the latest serious developments on the ground related to the provocations and flagrant violations committed by the polisario.

On the basis of this report, the Security Council adopted its Resolution No. 2414 of 27 April 2018, which enshrined the supremacy of the autonomy initiative and welcomed the serious and credible efforts made by Morocco to move forward in the political settlement process of this regional conflict, he recalled, adding that the Security Council reaffirms the UN as the exclusive framework for conducting the political process and discards all previous settlement plans as unrealistic and unworkable.
