The Chairman of the Royal Consultative Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received this Friday, November 17, 2017 at the headquarters of the Council in Rabat, an academic delegation from the "Chilean Studies Center for the Arab Maghreb" which makes a visit in Morocco at the invitation of Mohammed V Rabat University.


Khalihenna Ould Errachid exchanged the members of the delegation under the chairmanship of Dr. Jorge Vargas, Executive Secretary of the Center, views on issues related to the conflict of the Moroccan Sahara, including the Moroccan autonomy proposal that the Kingdom submitted in April 2007 to the United Nations as an alternative to previous solutions, and which was the object of support and encouragement from the international community. The plan, which the Security Council described in all its resolutions, starting with resolution 1754 and subsequent resolutions, as serious and credible.


Khalihenna Ould Errachid also spoke in his meeting with members of the delegation attended by Dr. Maouelainin Ben Khalihenna Maouelainin, CORCAS Secretary General, as well as the two members, namely Ahmed Lakhrif and Moulay Ahmed Mghizlate, the latest developments on this issue whether at the level of the African continent with the return of Morocco to its African family and with the recovery of its place within the Organization of the African Union and at United Nations level with the will of the UN Secretary-General to revive the UN process by appointing Horst Köhler as his new personal envoy for the Sahara.
