During the visit, His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara and His Majesty King Mohammed VI held one-on-one and extended talks in which they discussed national, bilateral and international issues in an atmosphere of cordiality and mutual understanding.

Welcoming the level of cooperation between their two countries, which already has 143 agreements, His Excellency Alassane Ouattara and His Majesty King Mohammed VI underlined the need for the implementation of these Agreements for the development of their countries and the well-being of their populations. To this end, they called for the regular meeting of the Committee for the Formal Mechanism for the follow-up and implementation of the agreements to be chaired by the Ministers for Foreign Affairs.

His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara and His Majesty King Mohammed VI also welcomed the Second Session of the Moroccan-Côte d'Ivoire Economic Impulse Group for a genuine strategic partnership between the public and private sectors, resulting from the Strategic and Economic Partnership Agreement signed on 21 January 2015 in Marrakech. The governments of the two countries will work to implement the recommendations resulting from this second session, which are in line with the common vision of the two heads of State to establish bilateral cooperation between the two countries in a true model of South-South cooperation for the whole of Africa.

At the end of the Second Session, fourteen (14) sectoral agreements were signed between the economic partners of the two countries, in order to give concrete content to this strategic partnership by carrying out projects in the following sectors: construction and housing Social, infrastructure, transport and logistics,  banking and finance , social economy, solidarity and crafts, health, digital economy and industry ".

The visit by His Majesty King Mohammed VI was an opportunity to observe the state of progress of the projects in progress and the sites to host projects of cooperation to be realized in the short term.

HM King Mohammed VI and His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara welcomed the progress of the structuring projects under way, in particular the work to safeguard and upgrade the Bay of Cocody.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI also inaugurated projects financed by the Mohammed VI Foundation.

His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, translated the recognition of the Government and people of Côte d'Ivoire to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the inestimable contribution of the Kingdom to the emergence of Côte d ' Ivoire, Morocco being one of the main investors in Côte d'Ivoire.

His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara also informed his illustrious host of the progress made by Côte d'Ivoire in the areas of democracy, fight against poverty and against terrorism.

His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara also welcomed the return of Morocco to the African Union, stressing the decisive role that the Kingdom will play in its institutional family, especially in consolidating peace and security in the subregions of North and West Africa, as well as in the rest of Africa.

This return clearly shows the will and determination of the King of Morocco to engage in South-South cooperation and to participate fully in the development of the continent, as reflected in the Morocco-Nigeria pipeline project, which will cross West African countries, Côte d'Ivoire and whose benefits will benefit not only all of these countries but also, and above all, their populations.

For his part, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, hailed Côte d'Ivoire's support for Morocco's return to the African Union, and pledged to support Côte d'Ivoire's candidacy as a non-permanent member the Security Council for the years 2018-2019.

The two Heads of State reiterated their hopr to see an Africa more solidarity and unity, capable of fighting effectively and victoriously against new forms of crime, including terrorism, cybercrime, maritime piracy and drug trafficking, while calling on the international community to unite in order to put an end to these scourges.

Concerning conflicts in Africa, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara advocate sustainable and inclusive political solutions to crises on the continent.

In this regard, King Mohammed VI rejoiced at the decisive role that His Excellency Alassane Ouattara continues to play in the peaceful settlement of these conflicts, as President Félix Houphouet-Boigny has always advocated.

At the end of his visit, His Majesty Mohammed VI expressed to His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara, Government and Ivorian People, deepest gratitude and sincere thanks for the warm welcome, fraternity and solidarity and hospitality. 

His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, invited His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, to pay a visit of friendship and work in Morocco on a date to be determined through diplomatic channels. His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara has accepted with pleasure this invitation.
