The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Khalihenna Ould Errachid, received Tuesday, January 29, 2013, a delegation from the Colombian Senate, led by Myriam Alicia Paredes, President of the Foreign Relations Commission at the Senate who performs a working visit January 22 to 31 in Morocco.


The meeting between the Corcas chairman and the Colombian Senate delegation, focused on the latest Sahara developments, and the need to find a rapid and definitive solution.

This solution will prevent the risks that threaten the stability and security of the peoples of the region, given the crisis in Mali and dangerous terrorists and secessionists threatening the region of Sahel and Sahara.

This meeting was an opportunity for the Colombian delegation to express once again the support provided by Columbia to efforts made by Morocco to find a solution to the Sahara conflict within the framework of the United Nations, its position and its territorial unity.

The delegation led by the President of the Commission of the Colombian Senate, was made of Carlos Fernando Motoa Solarte, Vice President of the Foreign Relations Commission, Diego Alejandro Gonzalez, Commission Secretary General, Senator Carlos Emiro Barriga and Danilson Gueva Villabon.

This meeting was attended by the Council’s Secretary General, Dr Maouelainin Ben Khalihanna Maoulainin and Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat, Council member.
